You and your friends and family are OK? (I just heard about the roads and the flooding because of the volcano.) Hope everything turns out safe and sound for everyone.
I'm quite fine, since I'm on the other side of the globe :D As for my friends and family, all of my people already lived out of harm's way, and as for the folks who don't, they're very practiced at getting the hell out of dodge these days. We had another eruption that ended just last week, in the same chain of volcanoes, so the people on the flatlands south of the volcano are evacuating for the second time in a month... some of them have probably not unpacked their go bag since last time :)
Volcanoes in Iceland mostly cause property damage these days - of course they're always dangerous, but as long as people are smart about it, they can stay reasonably safe. During the last eruption, the one that ended last week, two people died, but they didn't die because of the volcano, they died because they went to look at it and got lost and they weren't geared up enough... they died of exposure.
