Summary: A viking AU. Elijah is the Lord of a homestead in newly pioneered Iceland around 900 AD, when his uncle comes home from a voyage bringing treasure, spices and exotic slaves.

So, this is the sort of thing that happens when I get really tired.

I was thinking about men in eyeliner. I think this thought started off somewhere in the happiness that my boyfriend sometimes wears eyeliner and is smoking hot when he does. Anyway. I was thinking about how sometimes we see celebrities do the kohl-rimmed thing - Dom Monaghan has done it, Orlando Bloom, I think and several others... and it's always ridiculously hot.

But even so, there doesn't need to be any visual evidence for it to be hot. I mean, how many stories have I read where some guy wears eyeliner and it's hot? Harry and Draco are classics, but I think I've definitely seen one with Ron and one with Percy, though I'm not sure. And you know... eyeliner+boys=hot.

Now there's a point to this.

Because after thinking about this for a bit, I started thinking about other men I'd like to see in eyeliner.

Which lead me to thinking about Simon Tam in eyeliner and damn near melting my brain.

I mean: Simon Tam = hot - Eyeliner = hot => Simon Tam + eyeliner = holy shit.

So I give you

So, I'm not updating to tell you anything about what I'm doing today (and I'm sure that if you knew what I might write, most of you would be happy about it...)

No, I'm updating to tell you two things: First that today the authors of the Remix/Redux IV were announced and that I am now allowed to tell you that I wrote this fic for it:

The Ties That Bind (The Brothers Blues Remix) - Sirius and Regulus, G - Sirius remembers his brother.

It's a remix from The Ties That Bind by destijl.

The second thing is that

lyras remixed The Girl Who Looked at the Ocean, in a manner that is seriously impressing. Read her remix, The Girl Who Looked at the Ocean (The Linear Remix)! It's fantastic - she's played up Harry and downplayed Hermione, which gives a bit of a different perspective, and also she adds a couple of scenes that work wonderfully. It is very strange to read a remix of yourself, though - I kept feeling weirded out when the author used my words - but seriously, I'm very impressed, and very surprised because of my stories, this is the last one I expected a remixer to pick. Though I have to confess that there aren't that many...

Now, off I go, to write some more about currency crises. And on Tuesday, that will be OVER.
